Everything You Would Want To Know About Us

Who we are:
Talk Radio Software is owned by our parent company, Square One Solutions, Inc. We are a database company specializing in unique custom database software.

What we do:
We specialize in database solutions written in Oracle, SQL, FileMaker and a couple of obsolete languages that no one has ever heard of.

We have written programs for Companies such as Rooms To Go, Mad Cow Designs, S1 and local law enforcement agencies on the East coast.

Why "Talk Radio Software" as a name:
 When we started (and still do) we had a web address that had the word Vyper in it. We soon found out that people were telling their friends about Vyper RTS and gave them the name of the website.

Unfortunately, they forgot to tell them that Vyper was spelled with a "Y" and not an "I", so many potential visitors went away scratching their heads when they landed on a home security website.

So, we grabbed a bag of doughnuts and some coffee to rethink the name.

Somebody remembered we had this logo from an unfinished project for a company that went bankrupt, and it looked like one of those old microphones they use in "Talk Radio".

So, we decided that everyone has heard of talk radio, and we chunked "Software" at the end and the meeting was officially over...as well as the doughnuts. And that is how "Talk Radio Software" came to be.

Our location:
We are located just outside of Atlanta, Georgia. Talk Radio Software operates as a "Remote" company.

We attempted to use the parent company as a location as well as their resources. This eventually became an issue, as the two companies were completely different in production and people.

Meetings are done over the Internet and we use Google Wav to go over projects and get our marching orders.

This frees up space at Square One and gives the Talk Radio staff the freedom to run wild without someone looking over their shoulder daily.

About once a month everyone gathers for a face to face and doughnuts.

The Vyper Staff:
Currently we have a full time staff of 4 people, one part time Intern and two cats.

Why Vyper Reptile Software:
We were approached a while back by breeders who wanted something different, which did not track so much data. They were in the business to make money and they wanted a system that gave them quick access and input and let them get back to business.

Plus we like reptile people, we have not met one yet who did not have a great sense of humor and a good outlook on life.
